'' I have determined that it is necessary to continue in effect the national emergency declared with respect to this threat and to maintain in force the sanctions,'' Trump said in the letter to House of Representatives Speaker.
Actually, the Syrians suffer under crippling economic conditions. Not to mention the catastrophic plagues of more than 9 years of non-stop war of terrorism and destruction. Mr. Trump's inhumane move came in reply to many world appeals and demands as to get the unjustified sanctions on Syria, and other countries lifted!
The inhumane unilateral US sanctions are accompanied by an American military occupation of oil and gas fields in the provinces of Al-Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor in flagrant violation of national sovereignty as to seize Syrians' much badly needed-for natural resources.
President Trump, under deluded militarism, has missed his chance to make good on his promise to bring U.S. troops back home, even as his lost wars and ill-defined global military occupation expose thousands of US troops to COVID-19 and to death in many places where they are not welcome.
Mr. Trump renews his unjustified coercive sanctions against Syria, paying no heed neither to our suffering, nor to the called-for U.N.’s global ceasefire.
In parallel with his sanctions against Syria, Trump has ordered his occupation troops to erect a new occupation base in the al-Jazrat area in the western countryside of Deir al-Zour, where huge US supplies and reinforcement of more than 300 military shipments reached there over the past few days.
The US is increasing its occupation in Syria, mainly in areas where oil fields are located in eastern Syria and are expanding their illegal base in al-Omar oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour. Under cover of 'redeployments', re-occupation- of small numbers of troops from a few isolated bases in Syria and Iraq, Trump, known for his election campaign broken promises, has actually expanded U.S. bases and deployed thousands of U.S. troops to the region.
