Mercenaries of the Turkish occupation excavate Efrin antiquities to loot them

The mercenaries of the Turkish occupation continued their organized criminal practices against the Syrian heritage, as they started a new excavation operation under the direct supervision of Turkish intelligence in the occupied city of Afrin, north of Aleppo.

Civil sources told SANA that "terrorists from the so-called “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” which is supported by the Turkish occupation forces started digging in search of ruins and artifacts east of the village of Kura of Raju district in Afrin region. They are digging using up-to-date equipment provided by the Turkish occupation forces that support them in the region and directly supervise the excavation. ”

The sources pointed out that the Turkish occupation-backed terrorists cut the fruitfultrees in the area to facilitate digging operations.

The sources noted that "the process of searching for and stealing antiquities in Afrin is carried out in a systematic manner and is run by Turkish intelligence, which controls the terrorists who occupy the area."

"The Turkish occupation forces direct their terrorist mercenaries to search for antiquities in order to sell them to Turkish antiquity dealers for a small price while the Turkish occupation forces seek to control the artifacts that preserve the region's history and Syrian identity," the sources added.

Under the direction and command by Turkish, American and French archaeologists and excavators during the previous years of the war of aggression against Syria, the terrorists sought to excavate the archaeological sites and steal many of the artifacts in order to sabotage and destroy the Syrian cultural heritage, which constitutes a war crime added to the crimes committed against the Syrian people, history and civilization.
