UN agencies call for immediate release of a seriously ill Palestinian child

OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, Jan.20, (ST)-The UNICEF, the UNRWA and the OHCHR have called on the Israeli occupation authorities to immediately release Amal Nakhleh, a seriously-ill Palestinian teenager, who has been in Israeli detention without charge or trial for over a year.
“Neither Amal nor his lawyers or family have been informed of the reasons for his arrest and detention. Amal suffers from a severe autoimmune disease that requires continuous medical treatment and monitoring,” said the UN agencies in a joint statement released on Thursday.

Occupation Forces Attack Palestinian Farmers in Gaza Strip

The Israeli occupation forces renewed today, Thursday, their attacks on Palestinian farmers in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Wafa Agency stated that the occupation forces opened fire with automatic weapons towards Palestinian farmers in the Taqah area, east of Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza city in the northern side of Gaza Strip, forcing the farmers to leave their lands.

Two days ago, the Israeli occupation carried out incursions into the Palestinian lands in the north and south of the Gaza Strip and began razing the ground there.

Occupation Forces Bulldoze Palestinian Land in Jalud south of Nablus

The Israeli occupation forces attacked today, Thursday, Palestinian lands in the town of Jalud, south of Nablus in the West Bank, and bulldozed areas of it.

The official in charge of the settlement file in the northern West Bank, Ghassan Daghlas, told Wafa that the occupation forces used a number of bulldozers to attack Jabal al-Rous area south of Jalud and raze lands estimated at an area of about five hectares with the aim of seizing it and expanding a settlement outpost.

Within the framework of its Judaization and aggressive plans to displace Palestinians, the occupation escalates settlement operations in the West Bank, ignoring international resolutions that affirm the illegality of settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories and demand its immediate halt.

Means Reviewed to Increase Cooperation between Syria and Iraq

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi discussed in Baghdad today, Thursday, with Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah, Syria's ambassador to Iraq, bilateral relations between the two countries and issues of common interest.

According to the media office of the Prime Minister and the Iraqi News Agency, the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries was emphasized and expanded to include many areas topped by the economic, cultural and security cooperation, as well as joint coordination in the field of combating terrorism in a way that enhances the security of the two countries and stability in the region.

The DPRK Confirms That The Hostile Policy and Threats of the United States Have Reached The Line of Danger

The Democratic Republic of Korea DPRK affirmed today, Thursday, that the hostile policy of the United States and the military threats towards Pyongyang have reached a danger line that can no longer be condoned.

During the sixth meeting of the Eighth Central Committee chaired by President Kim Jong-un, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea discussed the immediate action report and important policy issues of the Party and the country as well as directions for taking actions against the United States in the future, the official North Korean Central News Agency stated adding: "After the summits held between the DPRK and the United States in the past years, Washington conducted hundreds of military exercises that it had committed to stopping, and tests of all kinds of strategic weapons, and shipped very modern means of attack to South Korea in addition to strategic nuclear weapons to the area around the Korean Peninsula, which constitutes a serious threat to the security of our country.”

The agency continued, "The United States has brutally tarnished the reputation of our country and committed a clumsy act by imposing  20 independent sanctions . The current US administration continues its maneuvers to deprive the DPRK of its right to self-defense... And all the facts clearly prove once again that the hostile policy toward the Democratic Republic of Korea will continue in the future as long as there is an entity that is hostile to US imperialism.”

The agency noted that the Politburo meeting reassigned the national defense political tasks of promptly promoting more powerful physical means that can efficiently control the hostile moves of the United States against the DPRK.
