US-Backed SDF militia kidnaps several civilians to forcibly recruit them within its ranks

HASAKA, (ST)- The US-backed Kurdish militia called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) kidnapped a number of young men from al-Shaddadi city in Hasaka countryside in a bid to forcibly recruit them within the SDF ranks in both the countryside of Hasaka and Deir Ezzor.

Local sources in Hasaka southern countryside said that the SDF militia kidnapped a number of youths from the city of al-Shaddadi and the neighboring villages and took them to training camps of the so-called “Self Defense Duty” to prepare them for fighting alongside the US-backed SDF groups.

On Tuesday, SDF militia kidnapped nine civilians from the town of Sweidan Jazira in Deir Ezzor eastern countryside and took them to an unknown place.

The sources added that SDF groups aim to send more military reinforcements to the administrative borders between the southern countryside of Hasaka and the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor in order to put more pressure on civilians and detain members of some Arab clans who took part in protests against SDF’s oppressive and criminal acts.

Several areas in the countryside of Hasaka and Deir Ezzor are witnessing daily demonstrations demanding the expulsion of the American occupation forces and the US-backed SDF militia who has been attacking and detaining civilians, looting locals’ properties and resources and besieging several villages and towns in the Syrian al-Jazira region.
