AL-Miqdad meets his Lebanese counterpart and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held on Tuesday separate meetings  with his Lebanese counterpart and the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister on the sidelines of the  High ranking meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) being held in Belgrade marking NAM’s 60th Foundation Anniversary. 
 
In his meeting with the Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdallah Bo Hbib, Al-Miqdad asserted Syria’s keenness on helping the Lebanese people to overcome the obstacles and challenges they face. 

Syria calls for holding talks on the misinterpretation of the UN charter

With the participation of representatives of 19 countries including Syria, the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations held on Tuesday its 2nd ministerial meeting in Belgrade within the framework of the meeting of the High ranking meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) held on the 60th anniversary of its foundation. 
 
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad, who represents Syria in the meeting, said in a statement before the group: “We implement our agreements and decisions, and we dream of a better world based on the UN charter. What we need is general talks  about the challenges, which we face now because of the misinterpretation of the UN charter, or the policies of some countries that want to have hegemony over the world’s resources, or the ignorance of peoples’ rights of protecting their interests.”

Syria, Armenia hold talks on topics of common concern

YEREVAN, (ST)_Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly, Alen Simonyan met on Tuesday with Syrian ambassador in Yerevan, Mohammed Haj Ibrahim .The discussion centered on the deep-rooted friendship relations between Syria and Armenia, and topics of common concern.
 
The two sides reviewed the destructive role of the Turkish regime in the region and its destabilizing policy, including cutting off water in  northern Syria, especially Hasakah, and putting pressure on the people there to make a demographic change in the region.

Al-Mikdad holds important talks with heads of some delegations participating in NAM’s Conference

Within the framework of the High ranking meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) held in Belgrade marking NAM’s 60th Foundation Anniversary, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad held talks with heads of some delegations participating in this meeting.

Al-Mikdad met the Foreign Minister of Angola Tete Antonio and discussed with him means of enhancing solidarity and coordination between NAM’s member states at multi-lateral international forums.

The two sides affirmed the need to boost cooperation between Syria and Angola in different fields.

Antonio expressed his country’s solidarity with Syria in its war on terrorism, expressing concern over the spread of terrorism in the African continent.

Syria condemns extending the EU’s coercive measures imposed on the Scientific Research and Studies Center

A source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on Tuesday that Syria strongly condemns the unfair decision of the European Union to extend the illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Scientific Research and Studies Center and on some members on its staff.

It has become clear that these measures come within the systematic campaign against Syria, as they lack the minimum level of objectivity and credibility, particularly after the lies and attempts made by some countries hostile to Syria to politicize the work of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in the service of the conspiracy plotted against the country, the source said.

Martyrs and wounded in an explosion of an ammunition in the countryside of Aleppo

Aleppo, (ST) -  Three civilians, including a child, were martyred and others were injured as a result of the explosion of an ammunition depot in the house of a leader of the Turkish occupation mercenaries in the village of Al-Dabis in the northern countryside of Aleppo, where terrorist groups linked to the Turkish regime are deployed.

Local sources told SANA that an ammunition depot was hidden in the house of one of the leaders of the so-called terrorist Sultan Murad, backed by the Turkish occupation, in the village of Al-Dabis in the Jarabulus region, which led to the death of a woman, a child and a man, and a number of civilians were wounded.
