Over 50,000 Civilians Returned to Their Homes in Eastern Ghouta as Flow of Returnees Continues

DAMASCUS-An estimated 50,000 civilians have so far returned to their homes in the towns and villages of Eastern Ghouta after Syrian Arab Army restored security and stability to them, according to SANA.

A military source told SANA that civilians continue to flow back to liberated areas of Eastern Ghouta as the number of returnees reached 50,000.

The return of citizens comes as authorities in Damascus countryside continue to provide basic services, reopen schools, remove debris and open streets to facilitate the arrival of maintenance workshops to all neighborhoods to complete maintenance works.

BAKU-Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari said some Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) states have abandoned the Nam’s principles under lame pretexts, stressing that promoting international peace and security requires confronting the practices of these governments, according to SANA.

Heading the Syrian Arab Republic delegation to the 18th Mid-Term Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Baku, Dr. al-Jaafari said that the NAM’s countries have agreed to achieve a safer world in which the principles of peace, justice, solidarity and cooperation are based on respect for the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and equality of States, non-interference in their internal affairs, and refraining from aggression and the use of force.

Citizen martyred, 6 injured in IED blast in Barza, Damascus

Damascus - A citizen was martyred and six others were injured due to blast of an explosive device which took place on Friday in Barza area in Damascus city.

A source at Damascus Police Command told SANA that terrorists detonated an IED after planting in a private car (kia morning) nearby al-Khansaa Mosque in Barza area.

The driver was martyred due to the blast in addition to the injury of six others, the source added.

Syrian air force strikes back after Jaish al-Islam terrorists shelled residential areas

Damascus - A military source said Friday that Jaish al-Islam terrorists positioned in Douma in Eastern Ghouta targeted with several shells al-Wafideen corridor and al-Assad residential suburb in Harasta, causing civilian casualties and material damage, SANA reported.

The source added that the Syrian warplanes have stuck back at terrorists in Douma following the attack.

12 civilians, children among them, injured in terrorist rocket attacks in Daraa and Homs

Provinces - Five children were injured due to a rocket shell fired by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists on al-Mattar neighborhood in Daraa City.

SANA said that Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists positioned in Daraa al-Balad area on Friday targeted al-Mattar neighborhood with a rocket shell which fell in the surroundings of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) center in the area, injuring five children (2 to 10 years of age).

Two martyred, 21 injured in Jaish al-Islam mortar attacks on Damascus neighborhoods

Damascus – A child and a woman were martyred and another 21 civilians were injured on Friday in terrorist attack with mortar shells carried out by Jaish al-Islam terrorists on the neighborhoods of al-Rabwah, Masaken Barzeh, and Mazzeh 86 of Damascus.

A source at Damascus Police Command told SANA that the terrorists of Jaish al-Islam fortified in Douma city fired mortars on the Masaken Barzeh neighborhood, claiming the life of a child and injuring 6 civilians, some of them having sustained serious injuries, not to mention the material damage to houses and public properties .

Azzam Coveys Message from President Al-Assad to His Belarusian Counterpart on Bilateral Ties

MINSK, (ST)- President Alexander Lukashinko of Belarus has stressed his country's readiness to contribute to reconstruction process in Syria and to carry out joint infrastructure and economic projects.

He made the remarks during his meeting on Thursday with Mansour Azzam, Syria's Minister of Presidential Affairs, who, in turn, conveyed a message from President Bashar Al-Assad to President Lukashinko dealing with bilateral ties.

Azzam expressed President  Al-Assad's appreciation over Belarus's support for Syria in its war on terrorism, stressing the good relations linking between Syria and Belarus and between the presidents of the two countries.
