President al-Assad urges veteran fighters to be active in political life

President Bashar al-Assad received on Tuesday the chairman and members of the central council of Veteran fighters in Syria.

His excellency told the veteran fighters that their role after retirement is not less important than their previous role in battles or military institutes in general.

"The state highly appreciates the heroism and sacrifices of the veteran fighters and it gets benefit from their experiences in leadership centers in Syria," the president said.

President al-Assad receives Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces

DAMASCUS, (ST)_President Bashar al-Assad received on Thursday the Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri and the accompanying delegation.

The president expressed his satisfaction over the outcome of the meetings held between the Syrian and Iranian sides and the signing of the military and technical cooperation, which reflects the level of strategic relations between Syria and Iran.

President al-Assad chairs a meeting for Baath Party

President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday chaired a meeting for the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath  Party (ASBP). 
 
The meeting focused on the experience of the latest voting process  internally (inside the party),the positive and negative aspects that were revealed in the context of this electoral process and their important indications, not only at the party level, but also at the national level.

President al-Assad issues Decree No. 143 of 2020 exempting Prime Minister Eng. Imad Khamis from his post

DAMASCUS, (ST)- President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday issued Decree No. 143 of 2020 exempting Prime Minister Eng. Imad Khamis from his post and assigning Eng. Hussein Arnous as a caretaker Prime Minister in addition to his mission as Minister of Water Resources


 The government will continue working until a new parliament is elected, according to the decree.

President al-Assad urges newly-appointed governors to meet citizens' interests with alacrity

President Bashar al-Assad has urged the newly-appointed governors of Homs, Quneitra, Daraa and Hasaka to do their best to develop the governorates and utilities sectors and to meet citizens' interests in an optimal manner.  
 
He also asserted that the governor plays a key role as he represents the central authority and supervises central local bodies as well as preserves security within the boundaries of the governorate.
